About Reid Hans
Reid Hans, originally from Clinton, MN, came to Sioux Falls in 1984 to take over what was a struggling Woodlake Tennis Club. Under his leadership Woodlake would remain and provide year round tennis opportunities for adults and juniors for decades to come.
The Reid Hans Youth Tennis Scholarship was established to serve as his lasting legacy of helping youth tennis players in Sioux Falls.
A 2013 South Dakota Tennis Hall of Fame Achievement Award recipient, Hans had a passion for junior tennis in Sioux Falls and provided a wide range of lesson opportunities as well as helping bring high level tournaments to Sioux Falls. In the 1970's, along with a handful of other board members, he came up with a plan to save the USTA Northern Section which was struggling financially.
In addition to running Woodlake, Hans also ran clubs in Iowa, Kentucky, Illinois, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
