Huether Family Match Pointe

Construction of Huether Family Match Pointe had been in the works since 2007. Located at the Sanford Sports Complex, Match Pointe opened its doors in the spring of 2015. It is the first and only public, non-profit tennis facility in the area. With six indoor hard courts, state of the art LED lighting, locker rooms, HD video cameras on each court, and a spectacular viewing area.

In 2017, Huether Family Match Pointe was named USTA National Outstanding Facility of the Year and in 2020, Match Pointe Executive Director Mark Vellek was named the USTA Northern Frank Voigt Pro of the Year. Huether Family Match Pointe is also the home of the South Dakota Tennis Hall of Fame.

Match Pointe hosts a number of large tournaments, including USTA National events and the NSIC Championships. Over the past 5 years, Match Pointe has seen its tennis programming revenue increase by over 150% and has current court usage in prime time over 91%. In four years, the facility has gone from hosting 4 tournaments a year to 14. Each session Match Pointe has 400 junior registrations and over 200 adults utilize programming opportunities.

Match Pointe’s extensive programming opportunities include its adaptive tennis program, RallyOn, as well as a wheelchair tennis program. In 2021, almost $5,000 in youth scholarships were awarded to create play opportunities for under served youth.
